The top picture I first took a year and a half a go. The place where it was taken was in Colorado on my family’s property. This piece of land is very near and dear to my heart, so when we were challenged to edit a picture, I knew it would be extra special if I could find a picture that I took on one of my trips out there and edit. When I took the original picture, I thought it was pretty. It was during the beginning of October so the trees were just starting to change colors. I am absolutely in love with the picture after I edited it. I wanted to crop the top off to get the electric lines out as much as possible, and I wanted to enhance the colors. I used Picmonkey as an editing tool. This very special place to me was just captured in the picture, and editing it just made it a whole lot better!
So I am writing this the day after I tweeted for the very first time, I used a hashtag and all! Twitter was starting to become popular during my first time in college. Just like blogging, I didn’t think that I had anything worth saying. It was not a decision that I took lightly, signing up for Twitter, but I am so glad that I did. I have not been an avid user, but ever since signing up I have found so many great ideas on there! Twitter is one technology that I want to try out this semester, and be better at. I will casually look at it now but I know I am not using it to its full potential. I think that Twitter will also be a great addition to my classroom someday.
If you would have asked me if I ever thought that I would blog in my lifetime, I would have definitely laughed at that question, and said no. I have never thought I had anything interesting enough to say and that people would listen (or read). This if for sure pushing me out of my comfort zone but I will give it a try! This semester I would just like to be more comfortable with technology. Before taking education media applications, I was unsure on my feelings on using technology in the classroom. Someday, I hope to be an elementary teacher and I didn’t know how you could use technology successfully with younger students. This class is definitely making me think outside of the box, in a very good way! I hope to take all the information that I learn in education media applications to my classroom someday. I absolutely think that my students will benefit because of it.
